Looking for the best hotel for easy access to Gatwick Airport.
We will just been staying the one night with a long haul flight the next morning.

I know there are a few around the airport but it's a bit of a mine field if you don't know them, my priorities are comfort and class, cost is not an issue as company is paying so 4* minimum.

Web links would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance.

There are 4* hotels attached to each terminal at Gatwick.

At the North Terminal (where most BA flights go from amongst others) is the Hotel Sofitel (formerly Le Meridian). At the South Terminal is the Hilton Hotel.

I stayed at The Jarvis a few years back (not sure if it's still called that, but it'll still be there - it's huge!).

It was everything you'd want in an airport hotel - free parking, free shuttle to the airport (the driver helpfully informed us that the name 'Gatwick' derived from 'Goatwick' which means goat farm?!)

The staff were beacons of efficiency - we reported a problem with our toilet and the plumber turned up less than 30 seconds later - amazing!

Also there were endless impromptu buffets for people whose flights with obscure airlines had been cancelled and who had been dumped at hotel for the night. We constantly hung around the restaurant like flies trying to attach ourselves to the various parties!

Decent rooms, great service. I'd use it again.

Well, if your company is paying for it, try http://www.hilton.co.uk/gatwick - I stayed there for one night (I had a very early next-day flight) and it was alright. Nothing great, but clean, safe and decent and VERYconvenient indeed (a two minute walk via a covered walkway to my check-in desk). And Gatwick has a train station so you can get a train into central London in about 30 minutes, so if you feel like it you can go be a tourist for an evening!

Le Meridien is actually attached to the N terminal at Gatwick, so the access doesn't actually get any easier :-)
And, if I recall correctly, it's a pretty decent hotel

www.google.co.uk
www.yahoo.co.uk

Both are good for searching "hotels near Gatwick airport"

Or even better,

Get someone from "The company to sort it for you"
