When at the Baseline, facing the net, you will stand to the right of the hashmark. This is considered the Deuce court. You will be serving into the deuce service box. When (if) the score gets to Deuce, then you are standing on the appropriate side for the point.

When you start a game or a match you always serve from the right side first. The ball has to land on the opposite service box though.

If you're playing a competitive game then it's the right but if your joking around with friends then who cares start from your oppenents left side service box if you want.
