No. Only the Worker bees collect nector from plants and store it in the honey comb. The Queen lays the eggs, & is worshipped by the whole hive, only one worker bees mates with her, then he dies. At the end of the summer when there is no more nector around and the temperature drops, the worker bees are chucked out of the hive to die. The honey is stored to feed the grubs which are the hatching eggs, so if you harvest the honey you must replace this with candy to feed the grubs
