I started my cycle on aug 8 and ended aug 13. Is this a good time to try to conceive? I did notice my cervical mucous was sticky and looked somewhat like egg white( before its cooked),i think i read somewhere this was a good sign to try to conceive.

Yes! The egg white mucus is the best sign of ovulation (according to my Dr)! And if you have a 28 days cycle - your window is NOW. I suggest tracking your ovulating via a calendar or OV tests (which can be expensive). You can find OV tests cheap online. I also recommend this online ovulation calendar program...it's free for 45 days (I have this now). I plugged in your info and it says your window to try and conceive is last Friday through Tuesday. Check it out: www.ovulation-calendar.com.

Good luck!!

Usually your mucus is also stretchy and clear looking. You should be able to stretch it out alot between two fingers (sorry if it's tmi). Everyone's cycle is different but in a 28 day cycle this would usually happen around days 12-16. If you don't get preg. this time try using an ovulation predictor kit to help you along!

If you started your cycle on the 8th and have a normal cycle, you should be ovulating around the 21st or 22nd, so today is the 20th. I would try today and tomorrow. Good luck!

Well, try it. You'll not certainly not get pregnant by sitting at you computer asking questions. Try to conceive, and if you do, you'll know what to look out for in the future. If you don't, well, another month of trying headed your way....
Good luck honey. I hope that things work out for you.
