German writer Patrick Süskind authored the book "Perfume: The Story of a Murderer", a 1985 literary historical horror novel (originally published in German as Das Parfum).It relates the story of Jean-Baptiste Grenouille who was born lacking a personal odour who creates perfumes aimed to manipulate human emotions which turned him a murderer along the process.
