Target and Old Navy are the best places, they are really kid friendly, especially Old Navy. Any mall, really, will keep them occupied. A girl or a boy? Do you have to buy them things or just keep them occupied? I would avoid toy stores, since they always want everything they see, unless you are talking about a well-behaved child. Malls have food courts, too, so you can get them just about anything to eat that they may want. You don't say where you are, so I don't know what malls are around you, but try to find one with areas for kids to play or pre-teen attractions. Have you thought about a movie, too, maybe?

Hmm... there isnt one place that they can be for one day at the mall but may i suggest try taking them to the beach, a pool, nickel city, or a theme park? They might be able to keep more intrest that way. Just remember they arnt 5 so give them a LITTLE freedom. Like let them go on a ride by thereself and wait for them by the exit. I hope you have fun!!!

Mall of America or similar because there's more to do there besides shop. Have the 11-yr-old bring a friend; it'll be more fun for them.

Depends on your money and area. Unlimited funds? Hit the mall. Not super rich? Go to Target, WalMart, KMart. Thrift stores and consignment shops are great for a treasure hunt: you never know what you're going to find...above all, have fun!

Where do you live? That's always important. You could just go to the mall and when you walk by a store that looks cute, you could ask her if she wants to go in.

hit a mall so you can find a ton of stores. kids love to think they are older so you can even go in stores you enjoy and they wont mind. they will probably even like some of the things in the store.
