I am up to my eyeballs in family photos. I have parents before and after they were married, grandparents, great grandparents, my own kids and more family. Where do I begin to make album viewing make sense, other than plain chronological order. Thanks!

I would personally buy a few nice but inexpensive photo albums, and start sorting....

I would have one album for each period of time...

1. Before your parents married
2. After you parent married
3. An album for your Grandparents Photos
4. An album for your Great Grandparents
5. An album (or two, or 3....depending on how many you have) for your own family photos..
6. An album for everyone else, miscellaneous photos..

I even have an album especially for pet photos.... *lol*
But then, the pets are my family. :)

If you have a number of photos from certain events, a wedding, family vacation, etc., you could use small albums dedicated to the particular event.

For your kids albums you could use smaller albums and oragnize your photos into categories....

Either an album for each child, plus one for "together shots"...
Or, you could divide the photos by age categories...
Baby pics, toddler, elementary years, and on....

You could also scan your favorites and make a nice online photo album...

Have fun, and treasure all your photos..... :)

I categorize into Years, Subdivide into paticular family/friends etc. Then try to put each year into chronological order. With the Computer, I am now Scanning the pictures into Yearly Folders, can date them best/close as possible. this the best I know to do, but, try to do this soon. My mother is still living and she know who some of the people are who are strangers to me. They are important, some being old Uncles or Friends, etc. So, she can tell the story of this and I type notes into WordPad and file into each Folder with the Pictures. It a lot of work as we have Hundreds of pictures with fascinating stories behind some. The sooner you start, well, the closer you be to completing this project.

Keep the ones you like best - throw the other ones away.
