I work in Human Resources, and I LOVE my job. It's great...sometimes I know more about people than they know about themselves. For example if they are about to get fired. LOL. Actually, I find that no one seems to even notice the HR Dept. until their paycheck is wrong or their benefits were cut off because they never bothered to send in their Open Enrollment forms, even though they had about 6 or 7 reminders.

It sounds as if I'm bitter, and I'm not really, but I do love all the day to day interactions with staff, and the fact that you never know what the day is going to bring you....you could have your whole day planned out, and then the phone rings, and BOOM----time to go put out a huge fire! I love the fact that no two days are the same. And I learn something new every day. Pretty cool.

I'm a chemist. I love chemistry but I hate the fact that I can't move to a more rural location, with cheaper cost of living to get work. Right now, I live in a large city and cost of living is high. Everyone thinks chemists make great money..but we don't! I have a BS chemistry (ACS), MS Analytical Chemistry, and an MBA. That's 9 years of college folks! I also have about 10 years experience. My salary? $60,000 in Chicago, IL. If I could do it all again, I would go to pharmacy school...every town needs one and their pay is fair given the level of education (approx 85K to start???)
