You have at least two years to decide, son. Make the best of it and keep on researching. Military service can be a very honorable career. If you do join, let me thank you ahead of time for your service; from a Vietnam Veteran.

I am not sure what this has to do with basketball, except David Robinson was in the air force. I know people are going to go after me for what I say next, but I can handle it. I think everyone should go into one of the services. It makes you independent and it is a good place to grow up. True a better time is when we are not at war. I found there was a big world out there and that I was very naive about things. It really helped me grow up and be a better person. You are only 16, so take some time to think it over yourself, don't let anyone make the decision for you. It is your life ( the only one you will have ) so make the best of it. Good luck.

Air-Force is probably the best choice for those who dont want to be in enemy lines. The Air-Force uses the latest technology and gets info for the other branches. Even the best Air-Force pilots get drafted to the Navy. The Air-Force certainly isnt the crazy Rambo type of branch, its more for the hacker.

Navy on the other hand, has the Special OPs Navy Seals, and, the best pilots in the military. Navy is some serious buisness. (my favorite)

Army has the Special OPs Green Berrets, and DELTA FORCE (which "doesnt exist"). This is what makes the army a big deal, their Delta Force. Its so secret that you litteraly get erased from everything, its like you were never born. Also, dont expect to get glorified for being one either, you are not allowed to tell anyone your in the Delta Force, even some other Delta Force soldiers wont even know you're one.

Marines is a sub-branch of the Navy and they are always the first to go. This is for the crazy people, there called Jar-heads, cause its all brawn and no brain. Im not stereotyping here, but if you wanna be a marine, you gotta be ready to handle anything at anytime.

Special OPs may seems like a group of buff soldiers that are 6ft tall, but thats not always the case. There are many skinny guys there, in fact, half of them are skinny guys. It takes a lot of will power and determination (with of course some strength) to make it into it. Delta Force is probably the top notch Special OPs, followed by Navy Seals, and then Green Berrets. Special OPs will lower your chances of dying because you get the best training, best soldiers, and latest weaponry.

I tried to join the Air Force a long time ago, but was turned down because of my vision (glasses), so the Army drafted me. You should be proud to join the Air Force, but I think you are to young right now. Good luck.

As long as you understand we are in a war right now and you may not make it back. But it is an honorable career. And you will have a lot of support one way or another but you have 2 years to think about it don't rush.

I have to say...'you shouldn't go'!!!!
Do you know why? :-)...BECAUSE
If you are ready to go, you wouldn't ask this question ;-)
This is more than a career(in my view)...my elder brother is a solder in Thailand, he is very pround of his job, You've got to have a great heart for this job, I wish there will be a new revamp in military and politic soon, I have a son if he wants to be a solder I would support him eventhough I don't really want him to go, But for me if my country need me, I would be the first one who join :-)

What does this have to do with Basketball....? But you should only go if this is what you want to do, don't do it because someone else wants you to do it.
