Who determines which people are good people? What if your opinion on this isn't agreeable to someone else?

The democratic process has its problems. In America the race for President is almost a reality show. But, it seems to be the fairest way to do things. In Athens, where democracy was born, the issues were small enough that they could use the direct word of the people. Today the issues are more complex and politicians have to be professionals and really know the issues.

If only 5 politicians are any good, then it is the responsibility of the voters to find a candidate that is worth electing. For a long time the US only had two political parties, however some people didn’t agree with the views of either party so they formed their own parties. At first these new parties weren’t taken seriously, then they started to win elections.

If only 5 politicians are worth voting for then find some who are worth voting for, even if you have to form your own political party and have to find brand new candidates. Or better yet become a politician yourself and fix the problem!

You are very right. If all our political leaders go for a vacation, nothing of our country would stop functioning. But its too dificult to explain this to majority of our people.
