Because some people don't want to face the truth; for them, it hurts. However, among true friends, truth is always demanded, no matter how hard or painful it maybe. It is openness that builds trust and respect, those that cement true friendship.

Your friend is human just like u with feelings and as such, u would want to put urself in his/her shoes b4 saying anything and ask urself, how would I feel if I was spoken to this way. There's a way to to things and telling ur friend watever u like whenever u choose is not the way, u should at least use a bit of decorum when conveying ur opion so that ur friend will understand ur perspective and appreciate u for not only telling him/her but the manner in which it was done. So think about that the next time u wanna dish it out with no regard for ur friend's feelings.

You have to use tact when telling people your open honest opinion because you do not know their state of mind.
