My lil sister is 12 years old and she has a cellphone. She brings it with her EVERYWHERE she goes...even when she goes into the shower! Me and her share a room also, and she stays up until like 1 in the mornin talkin on her cellphone while i'm trying to sleep! What do you think i should do or say to her to make her STOP being so obsessed with her phone???

My guess would be that your parents don't want her staying up until 1:00 AM talking on the phone, so you should probably say something to them about that. As for making her not so obsessed with the cell phone, that is hard to say. Kids her age are often caught up with their cell phones and think they are so cool for having one. Try to convey to her the notion that having a cell phone doesn't make her special or unique since everybody has one. I personally wouldn't give my 12 year old kid a cell phone to begin with, but that's just me.

is her phone new? then i suggest you let it pass for less than a year at most since she's still enjoying and exploring the use of a cellphone.

if not well then she really is hooked on her cellphone. you can ask her if she could just make you go to sleep if she doesn't want to sleep (meaning: tell her to let other people sleep, not everyone is like her who can't sleep just because of a cellphone).

have you ever had a cellphone? maybe you should get one too so you could understand why she gets obsessed over it and maybe have a better way to make her stop being hooked on her cellphone.

you can't really make an obsessed person stop themselves unless they really want to stop. so i suggest you just ask her why she can't stop being obsessed with her phone. tell her that it's bothering you and/or why her being hooked on her cellphone is bothering you. then you should find a more effective solution to this question. =)

12 year olds don't typically need cell phones - definitely not 24/7. My 15 year old has one so when she is not home she can call after band or sports practices so we know when to pick her up (times vary). When she starts driving, it will be with her whenever she is out and about. When she is out and about with friends or at a party she has it now - just in case something happens and she needs an alternative ride home, will be running late, or to ask permission to go somewhere other than the destination originally agreed upon. She's not always happy about all that, but kids do need boundaries.

Talking on a cell phone in the presence of other people - be it at home, in a restaurant, at the movies, whatever, is just plain rude. Walking around the mall while talking on a cell phone is just plain stupid looking.

Talk to your parents - living your life on a cell phone is incredibly immature, rude and you need your sleep.

i'm 13 years previous and that i understand the position you're coming from even even with the undeniable fact that i'm an adolescent and that i own a cellular telephone. i imagine this is extremely impolite to be on the phone on the dinner table, era. I hate even as i flow to my friends' homes and they are texting the entire time, it makes me sense unimportant. i'm particular this is the way you sense about it too. And texting contained in the bathe? this is purely ordinary unusual. And her crying over the useless battery is even worse. i imagine your daughter desires professional help, in all seriousness. per chance you need to have a time of day even as no individual makes use of their phones or pcs and anybody purely relaxes or takes a snooze or something. this suggests anybody, including you, your husband, and the different childrens think ofyou've got. it will cause them to sense like they prefer their telephone a good purchase a lot less. even with the undeniable fact that the 1200 texts element isn't the most excellent plan on your section.. danger is including her habit, she will be in a position to flow WAAAYYY over the reduce which will value you an excellent type of money. endless will dodge plenty, and extremely 1200 texts a month isn't plenty. this is decrease than 40 an afternoon, and maximum kids have conversations to and fro through textual content. it is going to dodge an excellent type of money. yet i truthfully imagine your case is unusual. i am going to guess there's a pro someplace who may actually help you and your daughter. It kills me that no individual purely talks to at least one yet another head to head anymore. We make it too ordinary to speak at present, yet contained in the destiny, it is going to close anybody off into their own little inner most field. human beings received't meet new human beings, and finally no individual would have the social skills to make friends with whom to textual content. purely affirming. it really is all.

i dont think you can stop her from being obsessed, but you should talk to her and tell her that she is being rude when she is talkin on the phone when you are tryin to go to sleep. take her phone or sometihng. you parents shouldnt even gave her the cell hpone. she's only 12!!! and 1am is too late for 12 yr olds to be talkin on the phone. she needs to be confronted

Well, I'm attached to mine, too.. Lol.. but you could tell her that it's disturbing your sleep and maybe she should go in the living room or outside if she wants to stay up that late talking.. or you could tell your parents about it and they could take it from her at night or have a talk with her about it. I doubt there's anything you can say to make her stop being obsessed with it, but as I said, there are things you can do to make her obsession with it stop interfering with your life.

Most people view their cell phones as an extention of their being. Kind of like your purse or to a man his wallet. It holds personal information on it and usually has a cover on it that is of the owners personal taste. She will get over it eventually.

the only reason that she thinks she has that cell phone at a young age is cuz she thinks she needs it to be popular when in actuality having a cell won't do that. my mom wouldn't let me have a cell till i was 17 and i am now 25 and went through 10 of them cuz i still managed to lose them no matter where i went. lol

Tell your parents. Honestly I think she is way too young to have a cell phone.
