You probably aren't producing the same levels of testosterone as you were when the leg hair started growing in your teens.
The hair on your legs is a secondary sex characteristic resulting from testosterone. So low testosterone could mean less leg hair.
You might want to have a physician check you over if the hair loss has been dramatic, or if you are experiencing other symptoms associated with low testosterone: lethargy, moodiness, poor concentration, reduced libido, erectile dysfunction... But most likely, you are just getting older.

I don't know your legs!! :)
I'm 66, all the hair on my legs was gone before 50.
I had my q bypass they shaved me except for my head.
the hair started to show about 3-4 days later.
since I survived being dead. I decided to do all the things I should have when younger. I went to a nudist resort and continued at home.
Now back up up till 2005: I never was without long pants. My legs were hairless and ivory white. Now my hair is back but mostly white and all my freckles.
Get your butt into some speedo's and expose those leg to the elements.

It could be that you have a decrease in circulation to your legs. Do you have peripheral vein disease, or diabetes. This can trigger your body to no longer feed those cells, and save the nutrients for other cells.
