Celtic's Scottish Cup final win against Aberdeen F.C. in 1938 was attended by a crowd of 146,433(many more in attendance) at Hampden Park in Glasgow, which remains a record for a club match in European and British football. This not an estimate but the official attendance, the White horse final in 1923 at the newly opened Wembly between West Ham and Bolton the official attendance was given as 126,047.

147,365 people turned up to see Celtic narrowly defeat Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden. This remains the record crowd for a club match in Europe.
Celtics goal scorers were Crum and Buchan, with Armstrong netting for Aberdeen.
The biggest crowd to attend any match in Europe was the attendance at the Scotland v England match just 1 week previously when 149,415 turned up to see Scotland defeat England 3-1 in the same Stadium.

The Jags rarely play either Celtic or Rangers these days, due to them not being in the SPL, but it wasn't always so. There's nothing like the same degree of rivalry between these teams as Partick Thistle aren't perceived as being a Catholic or Protestant team.

Not quite football, but Rugby League - still, pretty impressive, huh? The crowd at Odsal on 5th May 1954 for the Warrington v Halifax Challenge Cup Final replay was officially announced as 102,569 however it is widely acknowledged that the correct figure should have been in the region of 120,000
