The One and Only Almighty God. A string of coincidences that were too coincidental to be coincidence. I don't believe in luck.

I wanted to be a dishwasher in a restaurant for a while.

I needed a job the first week of March '06.
But i decided to go apply for a job the day after St. Patrics day because i thought some slacker would call in sick because they were celebrating the Holiday by drinking a lot. I was hired and started working that afternoon. Since then i've got a raise and better position.

I have no good enough friends to help me get in the back door.
I did a diploma. But need a job to support a degree.
Ok i messed up my life, i had children young and now i am paying the price. However kids are hard work.
Done alot of volunteering, not that is valid enough for experience.
I never have had a chance. Nobody wants to give me one.

Chance - due to too many call centers jobs and constant "people stress", I decided to change hours so I could interview during the day. A temp to perm agency got me together with this company. I am a receptionist now - bored...but better than in a call center.

4 years of nursing school (although right now I am not using it) I am staying home taking care of two kids. We discovered that to pay for child care and all the other hassles that go along with me working at the hospital (overtime, weekends, holidays, etc..) it is better for me to just stay home until they start school. So I guess that also explains why I am on Yahoo Answers in the middle of the day! lol

Good communication skills, I said yes when they asked me if I wanted the job! Plus I had been taking a lot of community college classes and would regularly be seen studying during breaks at work.

I would have to say hard work, experience and luck. I posted my resume on hot jobs, career builder and monster. the company i'm with now contacted me because they were looking to fill a position that i qualified for. *shrug*

Also, you have to have good interview skills too. Remember your selling yourself as much as the company is selling thierselves to you. Practice your ppl skills and make sure you comfortable in the interview. VERY important to seem relaxed and sure of yourself.
