I'm happily living in England please don't encourage everyone to look on this as the ultimate destination. I'm also Scottish, by the way, so if it's got to be one or the other encourage them to come to England.

Hmm. Canada. Montreal is the best, it's only hours away from where I live, you don't need a passport to get there so I would actually be able to flee there without much problem... plus I just like their culture and outlook on foreign affairs, etc., better than the US in the first place.

Australia.
Good climate. Generally not targeted by terrorists (so far). Not rabidly political. And with a language and legal system that are close enough to what I already know that I could learn and adapt relatively quickly.

Probably, France knowing the language would help a lot in basic survival. I could see myself trying to go somewhere in the netherlands or croatia. Possibly Italy or Algeria.
