There are a number of GLBT-oriented groups within mainline denominations---e.g., Dignity within the Catholic church, Integrity within the Episcopalian, just off the top of my head. Also see the Metropolitan Community Church.

There are almost certainly closeted GLBT persons in many religious denominations around the world. Why shouldn't they continue to seek contact with a spiritual force?

There isn't one church that discriminates against gays and lesbians although there are churches that are geared towards gays and lesbians. I don't attend church just because it was shoved down my throat as a child and the god was an unforgiving, cruel god. Today I don't have to go to church in order to have contact with my higher power.

Of course, those who want to go do. We're just like other people looking for the greater purpose in life, and not everyone has to follow the same path. I know I go. It's a great way to feel even more accepted and meet others to love and help along life's journey.

of course they do. gays just like str8s think they have a calling. they pray, they sin, they pray somemore just like str8s. they become priests and are forbidden to marry and thats howcome altar boys become victims. Altar boys sometimes don't mind either specially when money becomes involved. the only thing that bothers me is people who think they know whats best for everyone else in the world.

Of course we do. We don't believe the right wing hate filled propaganda that claims to be "christian" teachings. Jesus said "come to Me as children and you shall know the Kingdom of Heaven".
