You are way better off buying a mint copy of the program rather than second hand. Take the advice of others and pick up your copy at a store such as one of the ones suggested. If the game doesn't install properly, you can get a new disk real easy and try again. If you get it second hand, the other person has their money and will send you on a hike.

If you have a 'free download' copy, the game does not install correctly and other 'gifts' (viruses) will install on your machine and really hose your computer. Furthermore, you cannot get onto the game BBS as a registered user if the game has been used before and registered on someone else's name. You cannot get the cool downloads and the zillions of tips and things on the site.

Start with baby steps.....
Don't buy the game until you have tested your computer to see if it will run. The test you can download is here:

If your computer passes, you can download a free official tool to build your own sims. The free trial that they do have for Sims 2 PC is the Sim creator module. You can get it here:

well i got mine for 50 clams, and i think the price may of droped to 45 or 40 clams, but im not sure since all these expansion packs are coming out the most upcoming one allows pets for your sims, but you can try buying one used, but be warned, if its a pirated version, it probally wont work, if its used the discs might be messed up or somtin, and remember there are 4 discs in the case and to overall start the instalation you need to put in the unique code that comes on the case, what if someone wrote down the code and just sold the disc to scam you? what if the code is ileligable? trust me you want to buy one new. its an awsome game, with so much better graphics and new content from the last sims game. worth the buy x-play gave it a 4-5. only a 4 cause the game is intended to be for strong computers.

I payed $35.00 for the Sims2 at Target.... Well, $34.99 plus tax... Thats pretty much the goin rate anywhere as far as i know. Places like EBGames, GameWorks, & GameStop dont buy or sell used PC games. They take used video games for the playstation, xbox, etc.. But not for PC, at least not down here!! Good Luck...

examine shops mutually with interest end to come across a more low-priced used reproduction. if that doesn't artwork, the internet is continuously a good position to locate it. (the most inexpensive save to get it new will be brilliant purchase probably)

the price for it dropped at Wal-Mart........or you can go to wal-mart.com and buy if there......its probably cheaper.....all you have to do if you don't want to give to much imformation is buy a shopping card at wal-mart.....it will be at your house in about a week.........give or take. first go to wal-mart.com to see how much it is......then buy the gift card......unless its cheaper at the wal-mart store. good luck:)
