Anti-semtism has grown at a record pace in the democratic party. Go to Yahoo jewish chat rooms and ask people in the jewish community about it or google the subject. Its real and it continues to grow.
The Democratic party use to be the sensible choice for jews, but today, it clearly is the opposite. Conservatives generally dont begrudge any man his well earned successes, while leftists now see jewish achievement as part of the corporate/captialist consipracy to destroy the world.
Furthermore, the houses Americans pro-islamist sement. People sympathic to Islamic causes, including Muslims themselves, create, believe and spread every "zionist" conspiracy that could possibly be imagined.
Considering this reality, it occured to me that the current dilemma of Liberman is direcly related to this shift in the Democratic party. It was only a few years ago that a Democrat congressman spewed jewhate on the hallowed dominion of DC.

How soon? Hasn't it already started? Even if they aren't using the name "Lieberman," it's still against him if it's anti-Semitic. Anti-Semitism doesn't talk about some theoretical Jews, it talks about Lieberman, and your kid's teacher, and the babies at you kid's daycare, and the guy at the next desk at work.

I don't know what newspapers you've been reading, but you need to read some other ones. The Democrats are anti-Jewish? Where in the world did you get this rubbish from? The Democrats are anti-Lieberman because Lieberman sided with President Bush on the invasion of Iraq, and if remember correctly, so did all the other Democrats! Just because some Democrats might be against Joe Lieberman doesn't mean the Democrats are anti-Jewish -- that is ridiculous. And not every Muslim is screaming about "Zionist conspiracies". Some of them are just shaking their heads and wondering when all this craziness is going to end so they can just go on with their lives. There are over a billion Muslims on this planet - they aren't all terrorists, and there are Christian terrorists too - remember Eric Rudolph?

I voted for him in the last Presidential race and I am a Democrat. It is not the fact that he is Jewish that bothers me. The problem with him is he has abandoned the Democratic party by becoming an Independent. As well as he has taking a more Republican point of view lately.

I consider myself neutral but vote mostly democratic. I don't hate the Jews. My problem is with the state of Israel and how they treat non-Jews. I would like to see Israel give back the land they stole from the Arabs and settle somewhere else. How about Texas?

My question is, why does ANY ethnic group etc. deserve special preference or treatment in our country or in our government?
I think it's time for america to focus on policy that benefits AMERICANS and stop trying to fix everyone else's problems.
Other countries can be civil and resolve their differences, that's kind of what the UN is all about, right? So, why drag america into their crap at all? We have our own problems...but, whatever...
