My co-workers drive me nuts. I've tried blocking them out, I've tried ear plugs, I've tried being honest...nothing works. These people clip their finger-nails @ work, chew their lunches with their mouth open, pronounce EVERYTHING wrong (Illinois is a biggie, and when I say it right they all give me a blank stare like "Why didn't she say the 'S' ?"), burp, talk too loud, slurp constantly and of course have not a clue how to dress for work (well, that would also require shopping outside of Wal-Mart). Not trying to sound like a total snob, but day in and day out of this open-mouth chewing, burping and rudeness is getting to me bad. Any suggetions? Oh, by the way, my boss is the same way, so no reason to report anything and I have to stay in this position for at least another year.

you have to start developing a different attitude and completely ignore them and when you are forced to talk to them...well kill'em with kindness and smile like it's going out of style.

Follow the Golden Rule ... TREAT PEOPLE THE WAY YOU WANT TO BE TREATED !!! Set the example for them to follow.

You seem a bit high maintenance to me !! What difference does it make to you that they choose to spend their money on other things instead of clothes and that they shop at Wal-Mart ? WHO CARES ?? Do you make less money in your position because your co-workers wear Wal-Mart clothes? If not, then it's none of your business! ... It doesn't effect you.

You wear ear plugs at work ?? What kind of statement does that make to your co-workers? That you don't want to engage in a team environment?

You should work hard at treating them with respect .. find common ground .. and find a way to enjoy working with your co-workers. Is that all you have to do all day -- watch they way that people eat and etc?

I have fun with my co-workers ... i.e. .. When they pronounce Illinois with the "S" I say to them ... There ain't no noise in Illinois. They get the message and its fun rather than offensive.

If you are not happy with your co-workers, then YOU need to work hard at finding a way for YOU to get along with them ... Be part of the solution vs. a part of the problem.

If you have to stay in that job for another year then just grin and bear it. You will not change anyone. Just look forward to the day you will leave.
