it did come from a cartoon they made, just playing around, and they thought it was cool and represented them.

Its based off a cartoon character, Diddy saw band mate Dawn drawing 1 day in the studio and asked her its name... Danity Cane. She says the 'toon is based on traits from each of the girls in the group.

i think it had something to do with dawn making up a cartoon whos name was danity kane.
