So that you can't waste your entire life answering other people's silly questions. (You need to spend some time on youtube and watching TV) :)

Its probably a way to screen out the people that would just post annoying answers (and there are a few on here, aren't there?). Once you get to Level 5, you can go for it. If I were you, I would just answer the questions you feel best qualified to answer and hope for lots of "best answer" points to get you to Level 5 at a quicker pace. Good luck!

It helps prevent web bots from answering a lot of questions per day. If this precaution was not in place there would be advertisments/spam in almost every question from these bots.

Once you get to level 5 you have unlimited answers. You first have to work your way to level 5. That is the rules.

I agree, it is absurd,everybody should take part in a protest boycott untill our demands for freedom are met.BE LIKE CHE!

because you are still in level 1, that's why.

when you reach level 5, you can asnwer as many questions as you like (read: you don't get a life anymore...lol)
