Yeah kelvin, I think he was talking about people like you. This is not about letting people walk all over other people, this is about trying. Trying to cooperate, trying to negotiate. If it's not possible, then so be it. At least you can say you did. Or anyway that's the mindset of the evolved human being. Next time, wait for Evolution to take place before you open your mouth, cuz as Lincoln said,'It's better to not speak and be seen a retard, than open your mouth and remove all doubt'. Not in those exact words, of course.

It's been pushed into a corner and covered over by hatred, and partisanship, and racism, and religious prejudice and close-mindedness.
I can't agree with you that I love the jews and muslims and and buddhists. Because I don't categorize people like that. I don't take everyone who follows a particular religion or who comes from a particular country or who espouses a particular political philosophy and assume they all act or think alike.
I deal only with individuals. And while I respect the teaching of all those religions you name (as a I must, being a Universalist minister), that doesn't automatically carry over to individuals. Nor does disagreement with any particular philosophy or belief.
I deal only with individuals. And I think the best and only way to truly eliminate hatred and prejudice and bigotry is to stop looking at people as members of any particular group, and look at them as individuals.
Love those who you choose. Respect those who are worthy. Reject those you cannot tolerate. But do it based on the individual.

Lets all sing Kumbyyah while the lovable terrorist saw our heads off with a dull rusty knife.... DumbAss..
Angles... we're *WAY past* the "so be it" stage. Those people (the Islamic terrorist) don't want to negotiate, they just want you Muslem (and their brand of Muslem) or dead. This didn't start yeaterday, or even on 9/11... it started in 1979 with the American Embassy take over in Iran, then 1983 Embassy bombing in Beirut, 6months later the US Marine compound in Beirut, still 1983 the bombint of the Embancy in Kuait. Need more? 1984 another embancy bombing in Beirut, 1985 a restruant used by US soldiers in Madrid. Then in 1985 a VW car bomb at a US Airforce Base at Rhein-Main. Still in 1985 the cruise ship Achille Lauro is hijacked... an Americian in a wheel chair is executed (he was a Jew).
Need more??...1986 TWA flight 840, 1988 Pan AM flight 103 over Lockerbie Scotlant... 1993 the 1st World Trade Center Boming.. 1995 bombing of US military compound in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.. 1996 truck bombing of the Khobar Towars used by the US Air Force as a barraks. 2000 the bombing of the USS Cole while it was refuealing.
And let's not forget 9-11-01....
You want to kiss MuslemAss... be my guest... I WILL NOT!

i think it may be related to the fact that there are a lot of people these days that can't have a discussion. They prefer to make everything into an argument because someone has a differing opinion, way of life, belief, skin color, etc...
Hopefully the love will return when people realize that, yes, everyone is different and, no, we don't need to change them to be like us.

Well, the problem is that just because YOU love everybody doesn't make it a universal truism. If everyone loved everyone else, why have the cops, why have the military, well because it just ain't so...you've got people shooting each other over their religious beliefs, and other forms of complete stupidity, and that Darwin guy, well, he's a pretty standards-oriented fellow, and goshdarnit, he's always right, turns out...

Well, if you don't like monks, then you don't love everyone.
Our society wants to kick God out of everything and when that happens, the devil infiltrates and turns everyone on everyone.
