Because they appeal to the simple minded masses. People respond to them because they lack the intelligence to analyze and respond to a more difficult question so they stick to the dumb ones. And it looks like there are tons of em.

Because there are more stupid people than smart (answering yahoo questions at least...).
Because you don't have to spend your time on thinking and typing a serious answer (you type anything and get 2 points here!).

Pissing people off is a good way to get their attention. I asked a question straight from a government text book about freedom in America lol Man I got blasted by every wanna be intellectual on this site lol.

Actually, the religous ones get the msot answers. And people rather answer dumb questions because it's fun and if you answer with a silly answer you might get 10 points. =D

Most funny to ansewer, and some people ansewer long ansewer long to stupid questions so they can punish the people for asking stupid questions by making them read more and for more points.

I don't know.....but I just answered a really stupid question.
Maybe because you don't know the whole question until you read it and since you're already there you just go on and give an answer for the points.
