Had all four of mine out at the same time. No real pain and quick healing. No problem.

I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed at the same time, and was glad that I had a week to rest up.

It doesn't hurt too badly, although you'll want to eat soft foods for several days, as chewing will be painful. Stock up on ice cream, soups, mashed potatos, etc.

The healing process varies, in my opinion. Some people are back up and at it just a day later, while it took me 4 days to feel comfortable enough to go anywhere. The biggest thing is knowing your body's limit, and if you feel badly, stay home and rest. I was on Percocet for the pain, but didn't need to take the full prescription.

I would mention to your boss that you are having your wisdom teeth removed, and that you need at least 3 days off. Also mention that you may need the 4th day off, but that you will let them know as needed.

My cheeks were swollen, but I didn't bruise the way some people do. My sister, on the other hand, was a bruised, swollen mess for about 6 days after she had her's removed.

I had all four of mine taken out at the same time. It didn't hurt at all. Bring an iPod or whatever music device you have and turn it up so you don't hear the teeth cracking when the doc pulls it out. Oh, you have the option of being awake or go completely under. I chose to be awake. It went pretty fast, and I didn't even know he was done.

They give you a novacaine shot before the procedure and Vicodin for after the procedure. It hurts a bit when the pain med wears off.

Put ice on your cheeks all day after you come home and all day the next day.

I had my teeth pulled on a Thursday and went back to work on Monday. I didn't have any bruising at all and my cheeks didn't swell much by then, so my then-boss thought I was lying about taking time off and having my wisdom teeth pulled, because I didn't have much noticeable swelling.

If you need any stitches (I did), it will take about a week to heal.

Good luck!

Just had my daughters 4 wisdom teeth cut out 2 months ago. They put her completely to sleep with an IV. She had dis solvable stitches and plenty of pain meds. plus an antibiotic. For the first week it was honestly a lot of pain, swelling and bruising this is why the doctor wanted to do it before she went back to school. She had trouble sleeping for the first 2 weeks due to the pain but the doctor said that this was not the norm and that it depends on the individual. But there most defiantly was a lot of swelling and bruising she looked like a chipmunk. She was unable to eat solid food for the first week so buy plenty of Popsicles, pudding, soups and ice cream (hey it gives you an excuse to eat that type of junk). Good luck!!!

Um...I haven't had all of my wisdom teeth taken out yet, but I will shortly...I do someone that did, though...yes, I'm pretty sure that you get pain meds, at least I better! You should'nt have to call out sick or anything, it shouldn't bother you that much, and I definately don't think that your cheeks puff out -that's a new one, um...I don't know what else to tell you except steer away from "hard" foods b/c that will most definately hurt to eat!

Mine were impacted and required a three day hospital stay. Healing took ten days, of swollen jaws and eating nothing but soup and jello. They also snipped the nerve that runs along the lower jaw bone that controls taste to the tongue, so I guess that things tasted ok for the two years it took to grow back, Only good thing was I lost almost twenty pounds while my mouth was swollen.

Yep. Had it done. They'll give you some meds to start you out. Might have to get an Rx, tho, depends on how much they give you. I'd let them know at work that you're having the procedure done. Your doctor should give you a statement letting them know how much time you'll need to take off. It's considered surgery, so your employer shouldn't give you a hassle about it. You'll be fine. Just follow doctor's orders.

You'll be sore afterwards. Don't eat anything too hot or too spicy for the first few days to a week afterwards.

I didn't swell too much but I did end up with bruises along both jaw lines.
