There's this girl that I really like that's why I wanna know how.I can't ask her straightly if she's gay or not 'coz I'm afraid it might jeopardise our friendship.If she finds out that I like her and she's not gay,she might not wanna be close friends with me anymore.Well I kinda suspected that she is a lesbian but I'm not sure.

You don't have to ask her outright. If you spend time together, surely you can find a way to bring up the topic of homosexuality to see if she's liberal in her thinking. Go to a bookstore or watch a TV program that has a gay character and feel her out on the topic. Use your ingenuity and don't spend an inordinate amount of time fantasizing about being with her. That way if she isn't a lesbian, you won't be disappointed. There is no specific characteristic of lesbians any more that there is a characteristic specific to gays, heterosexuals or bisexuals. this is an educated guess...
i'm a 40 y.o guy, i hang out with kids and date though. It's kinda hard to explain but i'd say almost all (rock and roll types at least) girls have some sort of interest/desire for other women, at times and to some degree or other.
So, they might not show any signs but they're probably going to experience another female at some point.
And, one way to tell is just to do the flirt /partying thing with any girl. She'll give off vibes and non verbal and verbal comments.
So just get social a bit and ease her into it. If she's already there you'll find out and do it together.

Guys are easy to find out if theyre gay,. Girls? No. i oworked with this girl. No signs that she was gay at all. I asked her the longest she went out with a guy for. She says she does not look at men in that way. Ask her about her past men. Like when was the longest she went out with a guy. How many botfriends she has had. Get into a real comfortable atmosphere. Mabie pour her a glass of wine...

Wow, what a question. My answer might be different if I knew whether you are a gay female, but honestly, unless you ask her directly, she tells you or you see her up close and personal with another female, I just don't know how you are gonna know. I have a couple friends that are drop dead gorgeous, act very very feminine and they are both lesbians. I have another friend who is a lesbian and acts very masculine. Good luck.

well..if asking her directly is too full on...then how about just checking her views on the subject...like what does she think about gay bars...gay marriage..etc... it shld be a good place to start..and its neutral ground.
another thing is to look out for signs that she likes you maybe? Like does she flirt with you? sit really close? etc... even if she is lesbian..does not make her necesarily attracted to you. good luck

There is no "Characteristic" unless of course you see them kissing another kill or dating one. They are the girl next door, the one at the bank, or the one teaching grade school.

She's your friend, right? Why don't ask her question and from her answer you'll know what you need to know.. loving a friend secrectly is a very difficult to handle. You'll know what kind of person she is by her hobbies, manirisms and even how she talks, her interest, there's a lots of ways, you know. invite her t ogo out w/ friends, observe what she wants, that's it! good luck

Lesbian is something a person is, there is no human characteristic that tells the persons sexual orientation. You just need to befriend the person and find out her sexual preference that way.

Start out by asking if she is involved with anyone. If she says "no" ask if there are any guys she is interested in and see what she says.
