Nice one buddy! about time someone asked this. Ive figured it out...straight people choose to be straight because they see everyone else doing it and want to be in 'fashion'. The darn craze has taken off ever since!

My only role models were straight throughout life. I was jealous of my friends looks and charisma in high school. In college I was curious, but again chose to be straight. Before I married I had sex with another guy for the first and only time for the next 13 years. Every day of my married life I chose to be faithful and straight. I cant tell you how hard I prayed for many years. After the divorce, which by the way was because she was cheating not me, i chose to be gay for awhile. Than I chose to be straight again. Dating a few gals. Finally, I decided that I wanted to be gay. I knew the heart ache, the hardships that would occur, but darn it I wanted my kids to know that no matter what they ever did, I loved them. I mean I got divorced so that they would not think that breaking the covenant of marriage was right. I also figured that they needed to know and understand that people are people and you can love anyone. So now I am gay and my kids support me. Unfortunately, because of culture I can never be out with my mom. So here I am, single divorced gay dad, alone. And have been for quite a few years. Can you really say thats a choice?

I didn't choose to be straight. I realized early on in my life that I prefered men over women. I don't think I made any conscious decision to be straight; I truly believe I was born that way. I just don't want to have a relationship with a woman!! I feel that there is nothing wrong with being straight and I am proud to be that way. ;-)

I love this question... I also love the first person's answer about how she chose to be straight when she became a Christian... you chose to ACT straight honey, there's a BIG difference between BEING straight and ACTING straight!
Sorry, I guess that's really not an answer to your question, but whatever. HA!

Yep, that's exactly how it was. When I was about 10 I noticed that my peers were starting to flirt and think about dating. So I sat down and had a good think and thought about whether I wanted to be gay or straight. I couldn't decide so I tossed a coin, heads I'd be gay, tails I'd be straight. It landed on tails.
Obviously, I'm kidding. My genetic make-up decided I would be straight, just like my friend Danny's decided that he would be gay.

I am a guy. I do not remember the moment I chose to "be straight".
I think the pressure of our environment, at our early age, is tremendous to be a "straight guy".
Consequently, the majority of us, do not even consider that this choice is a personal one.
Looks like if it is a "society choice".

I never ask myself this question.....
Well, I think this is the most natural status of every people: to follow the nature line.... men's look for wemen and wemen look for men's.
I was, am, will be a straight person.
I will allways turn my head after a women.

I never had any interest in other women. I guess when I realized I was not or ever will be sexually attracted to women. I would say I was born this way then.
