How long have you been on birth control? It takes about one to 2 months for it to completely regulate everything. You should go to the doctor that prescribed the birth control to you and get a check up, or just call their office and ask about it. There could be many different things going on. Generally it's nothing to get scarred about, but it could be serious, so get in touch with your doctor. They are going to want to know if it is spotty or if it's just like being on your period, if it's heavy of light and many things of that sort. Also they are going to want to know when it started and when it stopped if it does. Your period shouldn't last any long than 10 days.

Break through bleeding shouldn't last 7 days. I would call my doctor and talk with him. I am sure he is going to ask you how heavy and all.

at times break through bleeding can last off and on for a month until your body fully adjust to the pill, keep in mind that stress or sickness can trigger break through episodes. if it increases or is more than enough to make you wear a tampon or full pad you should see you doc
