The Scarecrow was appointed, on account of his excellent brains.
"Then Oz got into the basket and said to all the people in a loud voice:
'I am now going away to make a visit. While I am gone the Scarecrow will rule over you. I command you to obey him as you would me.'"
and later...
"'I will return to the Emerald City," he [the scarecrow] replied, "for Oz has made me its ruler and the people like me."

when the wizard left the right wing monkeys tried to take control,out of the west the witch came with her army and a great battle was fought,it lasted for 2 months with heavy blood soaked oz,in the ashes a man rose and made all kinds of promises,the masses saw this man had the right answers,so they followed him,he started building statues in his name and made all of oz his own,their was a rebelling after some years,for they saw the truth behind this man,and called him The anti-wizard,again this anti-wizards made degrees and at the end their was this huge final battle,the wizard returned won the battle and left again and don't you know the whole cycle started all over again.......but this time the new ruler came from a far off place he called "Rome"and they called him"emperor Nero"....and many wondered how this man will be.......

...upon which he launched a campaign against Munchkin Extremists, alleging that they were supporting the efforts of the Flying Monkeys and developing Lollipops of Mass Destruction. :)
