80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

What is the purpose of life? To re-establish your relationship with the Supreme Lord. Everything you have done in the past has brought you to this point of human life. And in this life you have the means to either better yourself by dedicating yourself to spiritual realization, muddle through your life in a mediocre kind of way, or be an evil a__hole and get put back into the animal kingdom in your next life. Material life is full of various miseries because we are supposed to learn the lesson that this place is not our home. We are meant to live in the association of the Lord in the spiritual world where we enjoy eternal life full of knowledge and bliss. This is our constitutional position, but we are now like fish out of water and no amount of arranging and rearranging things here will make us happy. This is it in a nutshell.

There really is no "Point of Life" that is for everyone. Each person has to find their own "Point" or reason for living.

i don't know the general point of life for everyone else.but the point of my life is to make my children's life better than my was and i will tell them that they should try to do the same for their children. because to me they are my life without them i would be nothing.in a sense the point of life is to create life.

You know, I don't think there is a point of life. Sad, but no point at all.

what's the point of LIFE or YOUR LIFE?
life itself, we have no true answer which is why we as humans create religions to have a higher being have the answer to existance, to explain the unexplainable for us.

what's the point of your life?
i cannot answer that for yourself.. everyone must find their own substance in whatever it may be, once you find it, you know you have it.

"Life" is an abstraction. Its purpose is to separate us from other things that share traits identical to ours. Volcanoes, waterfalls, stars- all of them contain wondrous chemical reactions. They move, they react, but they are not considered living. And with this abstraction in hand, we can assign unnecessary value to certain things.

Why does there have to be a point? Or purpose? We are living creatures, live your life, enjoy, be the best you can be and on and on.
