What do you mean by quite a few? How many?`Are they all listed as the same Virus or different ones? There are many programs that say they can remove this one. Kaspersky and AVG are just two of them. Since this infection is a Trojan ewido should be able to remove it also. The most important thing about removal is not the program but the procedure you use. Just running a scan and removal in normal mode doesn't work with many infections. They are programed to hide parts of them in Hidden files and restore point files and will immediately reinfect as soon as the scan and removal is completed.
If you open the hidden files these parts are removed and the infection is cleaned. It is also important to make a physical disconnect from the Internet. Going into Safe Mode will disconnect you from the Internet also.
These two sites should help you do a proper removal.

Although this article is about spyware removal, you will notice the procedure is basically the same a listed by the above site. It is used for Virus or spyware removal.

I recommend you bookmark (Favorites in IE) these sites. It's not a case of if you get infected again, but when.

Boot your computer up in Safe Mode by repeatedly pressing the F8 key during bootup until you get a menu screen that list Safe Mode as one of the options. (Your screen will look bigger than normal when in Safe Mode - that is OK. Will return to normal on the next reboot)
Run the virus scan in Safe Mode. Some viruses can not cleaned in regular mode because they are loaded during boot up so the virus cleaner can not remove them. Safe Mode prevents them from being loaded.
Reboot the PC and then also check for spyware. Run both Ad-aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaw... and Skybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/)...... to remove any spyware. Run both as one may caught something the other missing. Then go to microsoft.com and download Defender to protect against future infections.

If you have windows XP I use an anti virus program and scan in safe mode. I delete every thing it finds. Then I reboot. I do another scan and I am always free of every thing. I have done this to many PC's with excellent results.
