Every time I plug a flash drive into my WORK laptop, I need to assign it a drive letter through the Disk Administrator. It doesn't require this with USB hard drives, and the same flash drives work fine on my home PCs. Any ideas?

Are you using another software that equires to install a low level hardware driver ?
I got that kind of problem twice with an emulation software that mimic a CD-drive and an SCSI driver. They replaced some windows libraries with old ones and (i think) the plug and play was not able to recognize my harware.
Try to check the versions of your libraries, one may be outdated.

Sorry....I'm pretty good with computers too, I repaired so much stuff but I can't remember everything exactly...

Good luck

First be particular you're going the mind-set of forestalling and unplugging your force precise. Secondly besure to reboot your computer a minimum of once a week in case you leave it on for all time.
