amd is a faster more powerfull processor than intel and it also has its version of "core duo" so amd are more recommended for desktops however if you have a laptop you should chose intel because the consume less power and the clock speed difference isnt all that noticeable hope this helps

AMd is cheaper and more reliable. They also measure their process different so a 2 ghz amd is better than a 2 ghz intel. Intel still has the quality and name recognition though.

Intel. AMD is OK for lighter usage (say in homes) as the processor gets over heated for heavy duty purposes.

I would buy intel for buisiness applications.
But only go with AMD for gaming.
They include extra coding extension for graphics that intel doesnt have.\

currerntly intel with the new core 2 extreme. amd is trying to beat inel with new things like socket AM3 and 4x4.
