The motor is on a air compressor.It is wired now for 110, their is no wire dig and the wires are not all numbered. It is a Jarathan brand, 1 1/2 HP 1750 rpm, single fase

The motor should have a plate on the side that gives its horsepower rating and its power requirements. If the motor says 110-240V, then there is a way to wire it for 240V operation. If the motor does not say this, then it is a 110-120V only motor. If you must use it in a 240V environment, you will need a step-down transformer.

If its a 120 volt single phase motor, you can wire to 240 volt but you will burn it up in 3 seconds. When will people learn that if you do not have the knowledge hire someone that does. You need to buy a 240volt motor. it also more efficient than 120v.

if it is wired for 110 just use one of the hot wires to the black and not 2 then use the neutral to the white and ground the green. Put a wire nut on the other hot

it will make it work really fast, trust me... i know.

then boom.
110 motors are 110 motors and 220 motors are 220 motors, don't mess about mate.
