i come from a family of late bloomers, and i've been told that this isn't a huge deal, but some reassurance would be nice because i'm feeling really weird about it.

I'm a nurse and can assure you you are fine. We see some girls start at 10 or earlier and some not until 18 or a little older.
If you havent started by about 16 mention it to your doctor, but in the meantime count your blessings..... no cramps, no big purses full of pads that might fall out in front of a cute boy , no pms and you can swim anytime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Your genetics probably play a big part in this, but you're perfectly normal. When I hit 15 I thought I was never going to start and it really upset me. And then, a month after my 15th birthday, I got my first period. Don't feel weird about it, just be patient. It'll creep up on you when you least expect it!

If your family has had the same experience with this as you I wouldnt worry. If you are still worried see a dr and they can make sure you are OK.

We already answered this one.

It can be normal - you are a late bloomer.

You will be fine.

You might want to go to a doc and have yourself checked to make sure you don't have imperforate hymen.
