I did not know that there was a matter of negotiation now in this Lebanese conflict between Israel and Syria. But if so then well and good and let them see their faces while hearing their words for once. Maybe after several rounds they will come to an understanding that is more realistic than before. As for negotiating I believe they did that many times in the past either directly or via mediators, so nothing new in that.

I think hezbollah was a reality check for them "a wake up call". They have been daydreaming for some time, believing they are unbreakable!! They couldn't win a 32-day war with a bunch of ill equipped, ill trained group (not a country nor an army). They couldn't get their two soldiers back that the whole war started over! And they lost another 148 soldiers according to them!! They even broke the cease fire and solders trying to take hezbollah by surprise and still managed to lose some soldiers and had to retreat without completing the mention. A war with Syria right now might see the end of Israel. I think their soldier got used to firing at 12-year-old kids that throw rocks at their tanks and forgot what a real war looks like. I think they truly believe they were winning a war by firing at unarmed kids from inside the tanks!!

The invasion of Lebanon did not go well. The mighty Israel war machine suffered when Hezbollah rockets cut off and/or crippled delivery of supplies. For the first time Israel has not been able to walk over Lebanon and with growing corruption in their government Israel has come to realize talking/negotiating may be good.idea. and Syria is a good place to start.

I guess because they have little choice. They have enemies on all sides and if they are going to continue being a country they have to try and negotiate with some of the arab countries. I doubt that Israeli Army could hold of the whole Middle east, although it has been done before

On Saturday, Iran launched a series of major military exercises, with 10 short-range surface-to-surface missiles being launched in a test on Sunday.
According to Iranian state television, the tests included a launch of a Saegheh (Lightning) missile, which reportedly has a range of 80 to 250 kilometres (50 to 155 miles).
The missile is not thought to be capable of carrying a nuclear warhead, news agency AP reported.
The Iranian military has said its wargames are a reaction to what it sees as a heightening of tension in the Middle East.
A military training plane caught fire and crashed after trying to make an emergency landing on a highway outside of Tehran. The pilot managed to eject safely.

IFF this actually happened it wouldn't be a bad idea.
Probably the best reason for Israel is to cut off supplies to the Hezbollox. For Assad, he can keep Syria out of the upcoming time rollback in Iran and come out in a superior position.
