Looking for the title of an old movie (circa 80's)?

About a boy who was fishing in the woods, got lost and couldn't find his way back home. Along the way met a magic talking frog, a bad witch. I first watched this movie in the mid 80's, can anyone help.

This boy went fishing with his friend in the woods, and his friend left home first coz it was getting dark, but this boy didn't want to go home yet and stayed fishing. When he wanted to go home he got lost. That's where he found a talking frog. Other characters/scenes: puppet show in the woods, the witch is a guy... Anyone please?

Doesn't ring any bells for me. I did some searching on IMDB; couldn't find anything that matched that exactly, but maybe you can use their keyword search, because you can probably pick appropriate words a lot better than I can.

http://imdb.com/keyword/talking-animal/ is the page for "talking animal" movies; I thought that was probably a good place to start. But if the talking frog is just an incidental character, it probably won't be listed there.

Also, you didn't mention whether the movie was released in the 80's, or if you saw it then but it might be much older because you saw it on cable or something. Or if it was a made-for-TV movie; those are harder to find. Or if it's an animated movie.

The more details you give, the better chance someone can help you find it.
