FAshion gurus I need your help! I'm starting a new teaching job and I need to build up my wardrobe. I've always been able to dress casually before now so I've never had to pay too much attention to my overall wardrobe.

At this point, I have several pieces that are appropriate for work, but they are all black...skirt, 2 pants, short sleeved sweater. I have one silver/grey button down blouse also. Does anyone have suggestions (besides adding prints &/or colors LOL!) for what to buy? I don't want to buy a ton of stuff but I also don't want to look like I'm wearing the same 5 outfits every week either! What do you think is the minimum I can get away with? TIA!

Start with 3 pairs of different colored slacks of your choice, then choose at least 5 shirts ( 1 for each day of the week), and you can certainly add on to both if you want 1-2 weeks or more versatility in your wardrobe.

Common colors for cold weather slacks are basic brown, navy (dark) blue, and black. Cooler shades are khaki, light of anything, (blue, khaki green, or other pastel shades).

For accessories mix up the jewelry if you wear it, add scarves, belts, and vests or sweaters for variety. Accessorizing smartly can even make you feel as if you are wearing a new outfit !

Kohls can help with prices and decent selelction
You have a good start black slacks, black skirt.
If you go for colors stay in one color family lavenders, pinks
fuscia, so you can mix easier with your black

Or depending on what you like go neutral , black, tan, brown, white, cream, thats what my friend does for work.( you could even add a little peach come spring)

AN occasional dress on sale is good too.
I would go for basic on the bottom and maybe one jacket to start.

Dont worry about looking like you have the same thing on every week. Most people do for work.
