most people would answer Aishwarya Rai, but I think it's either Madhuri Dixit or Sonali Bendre, sorry I'm not really into the latest Bollywood actresses.

actually, aishwarya rai has aquired that title, because she is now in the industry, and before that, was crowned miss universe. she is no doubt beautiful, but before her, madhuri dixit, who enchanted the cine-goers with her sweet face, dancing skills, sensuous figure, and fairly good acting talents, was no.1 heroine. she also gave many hits, whereas ash has given more flops, like jeans, josh, etc. madhuri paired well with anil kapoor, salman khan, and her movies with even sanjay dutt, like saajan, were hit. she was a terrific dancer, and even popular in pakistan.
but acually, sushmita sen, who was miss world, but didn't do so well in films, is much more stunning.
if you compare yester years beautiful actresses like madhubala, nimmi, and more recently, hema malini,titled dream girl, and rekha, the ageless beauty, 10 aishwarya rai's won't match their natural beauty, grace, and elegance, without exposing their bodies, and no need to woo the media, all those scandals, hype, or titles won by showing their figures in bikinis !
still madhubala is only considered the real queen of hearts of bollywood, after many years might have passed !
