In order for humans to thrive they need other human attention and contact. Problems develop by the inappropriate methods humans use to get the attention they need. So yes, we do need others approval of us.

I think that many people do want attention, and there isn't really that much wrong with that. I like it when people notice me for my ideas and what I do. I like getting complaments on my writing and my art. I like to dress up every once in a while and get looked at. But I also want to fade into the background sometimes. It's when you base your entire being on getting and keeping attention that it becomes a bad thing.

For most people,yes. Some much more than others. I know of only a few who seem to not care about other peoples opinions of them.

I think that it all depends on how happy u r with urself. If ure a confident person u could b happy in a plastic bag or with nothing on at all! i.e Jordan (Kate Price). But if ure a spitefull person and full of jealously the angry outward feelings will reveal ure ugly inside feelings.
