The world is full of "Sleeper cells", so is the US. The sleepers are really zealots that only need some kind of trigger to react. Al-queda would not be the only banner that these nut-cases assemble under. There are lots of causes that have caused terrorist activities over the years...look at history.

The real question that you suggest is "How many of them? As a percent of our population, the population is very small. If terrorist want to hit you they can easily. They can enter us the same way as the jackal did in the movie the jackal. He took a sailboat across the great lakes from Canada and didn't bother stopping at the customs office. Just think how much explosives a sailboat could carry moving from one unsuspecting target to the other. There are too many boats for the coast guard to search the odds of getting by the coasties is very good especially if you follow the rules. No speeding sailing in restricted areas that sort of thing. see how fraking easy it is. Bush hasn't stopped anything the terrorist just haven't decided to hit us again.

What country are you from?? If you are American, you know that it is feasible to have terrorist attacks on our own land because we have had several. The bombing of the federal building in Oklahoma City was a homegrown terrorist attack. The bombing of the World Trade Center also occurred in the United States. The destruction of the World Trade Center in 2001 by airplanes was carried out by men who were trained to fly in the United States.
