Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card (Rather, the entire Ender and Shadow Sagas.)
I have yet to find an Orson Scott Card book that I haven't enjoy.

There are too many books to pick a favorite but my favorite author is the late James Harriott. He was a veterinarian in the English countryside post WWII. He wrote very good books.

Either "The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton, or "Great Expectations" by Charles Dickens. Also Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings are some of my favorites, too.

Arthur Golden's Memoirs of a Geisha. It is soo good and meaningful.
Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. It's very deep and entertaining.
