Like it? I'm rabid about it! The writing, acting, the way its filmed, the music--this series is textbook for how it should be done! I love the fact that this series is gritty and not afraid to explore the concept of "humanity" in all of its complexity. I also love the way each episode brings up an issue (or two) of ethics which almost directly parallels whats happening in current events, yet manages to seamlessly weave it into a spectacular piece of storytelling.
The show is also perfectly cast. We always had high expectations of Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell, but the younger, newer actors have also risen to the challenge. Casting Starbuck as female was controversial, but Katie Sackoff has really done a great job of making the character conflicted and most importantly, believable.
I can't rave enough about the writing. The huge risks that the writers/creators are willing to take--"One Year Later" anyone? I find myself consistently taken on an intellectual and emotional joyride with this series. Its almost criminal that this series and its cast have been consistently overlooked by the Emmys...it is one of the best things on TV right now (or at least in October when the new season begins!)

DBK: its frak, not frag... and i love BSG... the only thing that bothers me is that some of the stuff is taken from Firefly, ie the rapid zoom of the camera during the shots of ships, etc.... not to mention NOISE IN SPACE... think about it... its a vacuum... there wouldnt be any noise... just another reason why Firefly is the best sci-fi show ever.... followed by BSG....

i wasnt too crazy about season 1 but Season 2 is getting heaps better... i just rented it and finished watching it on DVD and i must say there are a couple of outstanding episodes in it.
Although i still think at least 30% of the episodes are there just for the sake of filling the numbers to make a season.... "Pegasus" and "Downloaded" were definitely my top 2.

If more TV shows were done this way, the Television entertainment industry would be more profitable than the oil companies.....

Other than the rampant use of the word "Frag", I think its great. Do you remember the series "Space: Above and Beyond"? Reminds me a lot of that more than the original series.
