Have u ever met anyone online?? Did it work out . . . would u do it again ???

That question is kinda 50/50 online dating is hard, because someone can lie about there age, what they do (You can do that offline too), and what they look like. And there are predators on the internet so it's not that safe (Offline also). I met my friend's friend online and it lasted about a week, didn't work out, but that doesn't change what I thought about online dating, I rather meet someone in person.

I don't know if relationships online would be doomed.. I mean it's different online, if you want to talk you just go on the internet and start typing away, someone could say "Brb" and make you wait a half hour while he/she is with another person. And there isn't like a big commitment in online relationships, someone could make up an excuse that he/she wasn't on because he/she had to do something.

i met a guy online about 3 years ago. we met in a chat room. then were talking through im for about an hour and we exchanged phone numbers. it just so happens i called him later that night, cause i know if i don't call the person the day i get the number it will stay in my phone for a few weeks and i'll delete it. anyway, we talked all night. i remember going to bed just before the sunrise was about to set. from that point on we started talking every day. it got to the point were i anticipated his phone calls and started to like him. the more we talked the more i liked him and the more i started to fall in love with this guy i have never met. we were in an online relationship for 8 1/2 months til he broke things off just 2 weeks before we were suppose to go to arkansas to finally meet at his family reunion. his reason was that i need to find someone closer that can hold and kiss me when i need someone there and to have someone i could go out to the movies and dinner with.
i cried my eyes out that night. i left my mom's house without saying anything to anyone and not even before i got to the end of the street my mom's boyfriend was calling me wanting to know where i was going at 11:30 at night. i ended up going over to a girlfriends house and crashing there because i just needed someone to talk to about what happened and she assured me that tre wasn't the guy for me that he was too far away and i needed to find someone a lot closer to home.

but yes i can say that online relationships do work. as long as the whole country is separating you. i would do it again but at the moment i am in a relationship.

My thoughts on online dating is that they are so wonderful because you are online. One can say whatever he chooses online without feeling any remorse. Its when you actually see, touch, hold a person when your true feelings come out and then there is no hiding your emotions. So my thoughts are yeah meet someone online, but one must get to know the person face to face before you say this is a relationship!

I had never been online dating before.

But I do have a friend who met her Hubby on line.

I think it is usually fate that brings 2 person together!

Whether online or not, one must not rush into a relationship!

There is a song I'm thinking of that explains it perfectly,
The Tubes, "She's a Beauty"

Step right up and dont be shy,
Because you will not believe your eyes.
Shes right here behind the glass
And youre gonna like her,
cause shes got class.
You can look inside another world.
You get to talk to a pretty girl.
Shes everything you dream about...
But dont fall in love...

Shes a beauty ---
One in a million girls,
Shes a beauty.
Why would I lie?
Why would I lie?

You can say anything you like,
But you cant touch the merchandise.
Shell give you every pennies worth,
But it will cost you a dollar first.
You can step outside your little world.
You can talk to a pretty girl.
Shes everything you dream about...
But dont fall in love...

Shes a beauty ---
One in a million girls,
Shes a beauty.
Why would I lie?
Why would I lie?

on-line dating is a quick and easy way to get in touch with people who may be looking for someone like you. It makes it easier to break the ice when meeting someone and you can get over the initial embarrassment of chatting in the privacy of your own home. However there is no substitute for meeting somebody face to face, and any relationship has to survive the 1st date. It is no good telling a prospective partner you look like brad Pitt when you look more like the elephant man.

Been there done that, it didn't work out, and I will not do it again. Its a very nasty and tricky business. Boredom brought us together. I'd prefer real life dating where you can see the person face-to-face. But, I can't blame people who's into on line dating.

I've heard of a few that worked out... However people aren't usually the same in real life as they are on the Internet.

I'd say it's less likely to work out because you have to like their online persona as well as their real persona... but still possible.
