I dragged myself away from Q & A's long enough to brew up and check on my son, who sat quietly with his felt-tips. When I next checked, he'd gone through reems of paper drawing pictures of guns in every shape and size imaginable! Actually they were very good - but should I be worried?

Well, it's fun to draw guns, really. Unless there are other things about him that you worry about, I wouldn't be too concerned. If he's big enough to talk sensible with, you could ask him "what kind of a gun is that?" or "how many different kinds of guns can you draw?" From the way he answers, you'll know if he's obsessed or just interested.

You should ask him why he's drawing pictures of guns. Listen carefully and thoughtfully and then tell him about both the negative and positive responsibilities involved in the making and owning of a gun. You might also want to spend some more time with him (and less time on yahoo.answers)?

I think you should..as a parent of all boys I would definitely be concerned..I would have also inflicted some type of discipline because we don't watch violent acts on TV...we don't buy toy guns, and they no guns are a no-no...in any shape, form, or fashion

Naww... its normal for a boy to draw pictures of guns. Maybe his thinking about army and stuff. Talk to him about it, Say " This is a nice gun, What would you ever do with one" Or something like that. But i think its normal.

Personally I'd be concerned. Have a talk with him and ask him why he is drawing guns. Infact, I'd ask him where he's seen those guns. Then I'd share with him that guns are dangerous and that guns are not toys.
