You can't stop mould from growing in damp conditions. What you can do is clean them using a pressure washer. Try scrubbing them with a paste made from baking soda and vinegar before washing, then turn your pressure washer on low to rinse. If it's not taking all the stain out, gradually increase the pressure to high.

just take it down every so often and wipe it down with a damp cloth.i have some on my terrace.and did you mean bamboo u wrote bimbo.

Do you mean bamboo? Try spraying with a solution of half bleach and half water. Test a small area, first, to make sure it doesn't bleach the color.
