Does it embarass you to ask your date for money because i went on a date with my guy and it was more expencive that he thought it would be so i had to spot him a few dollars. i thought nothing of it but the rest of the date he was very quiet and seemed sort of angry. was it because of the money? and if it was what should i say/do if it happens again to make him feel better?

I would be very, very, very embarrassed to not have enough money on a date.

You sound very sweet. He was angry at himself. I'm not sure there's anything you can do.

If I were in his position I too would have felt "bad". I'm sure he was more upset at the situation than anything else. The best way to deal with this would be to set up a couple of date that you know he would be able to afford then offer to pay for one of the dates yourself. The two dates would be to make him feel as though he is proving he can support the relationship and that one date where he had to borrow money was just a fluke. As far as the third date goes it gives you an opportunity to share your likes and interests with him. Besides what fun is a relationship, if only one person is in control. Hope this helps.

He was/is just a little embarrassed. He wanted to take you out to a nice dinner and found out afterwards it was a bit out of his budget at the time.

To put it in better perspective, remember back to a time that you really thought you did very well on an exam and when you received it back, your grade was quite a bit lower than you KNEW it was going to be.

He'll be over it soon, if he's not already.

I think it depends on the amount. If I am on a date with a girl and she offers to pay her share, I'll tell her I will take the check and she can pay the tip. If the amount was less then 10 bucks, I don't think it is a big deal, however, if it is more, then I think there is quite the potential for embarrassment. Men like to believe they can be providers and it sometimes is quite embarrassing and a blow to their self-esteem if they did not budget correctly.

I"m not a guy, but it could be for a number of reasons. Don't bring the money thing up again - and if he continues to be angry ask him what is causing his anger. If he doesn't want to talk about it - let it go.

It is a strong belief among guys (and society for the most part) that when you take a girl out that the guy pays for it. He wasn't able to live up to that, and he got mad at himself.

And he probably felt embarrassed and thought that you might not think that highly of him now.

Hi Ms Swiss. It sucks running out of money and it is embarrassing. Could have ruined his day but being with you should have cheered him up shortly. Sounds like he is a bit lame or just bad tempered.

it is better to discuss the matter with him and clear all ill feelings if at all it exists and also money part is not much important and if it was so important then he should have set a limit for spending.
