Yes, to the point that I will watch anything that Joss Whedon writes/creates/puts his seal of approval on. Even getting into the universe and mythology that he created for Serenity/Firefly makes me appreciate the Buffy-verse that much more!
I'm also happy to hear that Joss Whedon is continuing Buffy, although in comic book form, and its still not out of the question to revive the character of Spike in some way in film or TV.
Currently, you can watch Veronica Mars which has many similarities to BTVS. Joss Whedon doesn't write it, but he's such a fan of the show that he's even made a guest appearance on it! VM is also a highschooler (although the new season has her going to college) powered by her own "scooby gang" and snappy dialogue.

Your short answer is yes. Though I'd say it was more of a fanatic than a fan. I watched the entire series from start to finish only missing one episode.. the fist one of season 7 where she rose from her grave. It's my second favorite show and always will be.

Loved it when it was on with new shows.
Now that it's repeats in syndication, and I've seen all the episodes...what's the point?

im a fan of anything Whedon... but i prefer Firefly/Serenity over the Buffyverse....
