I take it you want to learn DOS scripting? There are a ton of free tutorials on the net. If you want to run simple programs that run in the console? I'd learn C.

Why do you wish to learn programing in DOS? It is an old no longer commonly used system!

do a google on DOS Batch. I assume you're on a windows box asking this question and you want to know how to do stuff in a DOS window - alternatively, you've found an antique machine and want to do stuff with it.
