this is from Harper Lee's to kill a mockingbird...i need to know what literary element the above quote is...is it similie a meteaphor what?

Actually, I think it's a simile since using 'analagous' is like using 'like'. It doesn't say that Aunt Alexandra is Mount Everest.

That would be a metaphor. If the words "like" or "as" is used to describe, then it would be a simile. Good luck.
